Assignment Title: Applied Community Nutrition Education
This assignment
taught how to examine a specific population to meet their nutritional needs
through community nutrition education intervention. In the community nutrition
intervention the skills obtained were writing surveys, researching specific
population needs, creating nutrition education lesson plans based interest topics,
and creating activities that enhance community nutrition learning.
From this assignment
the understanding of community nutrition was gained. Teaching nutrition
education to the community is very useful and can enhance the ability of
specific populations to care for others and themselves. By understanding their
health needs, concerns and goals, nutrition education was geared toward help
them reach these goals through small steps and improvements based on research
and interviews. All of the information applied when compiling and completing
this assignment reflects all of the previous nutrition information gained in
undergraduate nutrition studies.
Community nutrition education is an important part of the Nutrition and Food Science profession. These skills are used daily by nutrition professionals, as it teaches how to use in depth research of a specific population to enhance the care of clients in the hospital to the education and community setting by accommodating there specific needs. This type of skills is used by every nutrition professional in the field.
